After playing to sold out crowds in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in 2010 and 2011, the third installment of Kings and Queens of Comedy Asia promises to deliver even more laughs.
Last year’s event at the Esplanade Concert Hall was sold-out in weeks. This year we are moving to the 1900-seater Esplanade Theatre for TWO NIGHTS ONLY.
The Comedy Club Asia presents three hours of non-stop laughter from five of the best comedians in the region- The hottest comedy ticket in town!
HOSTED BY:
Jonathan Atherton (Australia via Siglap) – Singapore’s very own Laugh Guru and founder of The Comedy Club Asia. An accomplished and well-traveled comedian, he speaks Malay, German, Thai, Swahili and more.
Kumar (SIN) – A monarch of mirth who requires no introduction, Kumar is the reigning Queen of Lion City Comedy. She is a virtual icon known throughout the region, and will have you bursting your bra with laughter. And the women will love it too.
Vir Das (IND) – The brains behind the Vir Das (Weirdass) Comedy Company. A tireless and dedicated performer, Vir has appeared in 7 Bollywood movies, 35 plays, over 100 stand-up comedy shows, 8 TV shows and 6 comedy specials.
Shazia Mirza (UK) – Shazia is an award-winning stand up comedian and writer. She has appeared in numerous TV shows and is a columnist for the Guardian and The New Statesman. In 2009, she was listed on the inaugural Muslim Women’s Power list (Top 20 Successful women in the UK).
Ron Josol (CAN/PHI) – This Canadian Filipino represents the voice of the new generation of comedy and is one of the hottest acts around the globe. He is a competition winner at the Just For Laughs festival and a nominee for LIVE/BEST MALE STAND-UP in the Canadian Comedy Awards.
